We are thrilled to announce that “Mr. Gele: The Man. The Story. The Craft” is now an Official Selection at the 9th BronzeLens Film Festival taking place August 22nd – 26th 2018 in Atlanta.
The notification came in form of a Facebook Live event which took place on Thursday, July 12th where all selected films were announced at the CNN Studios in Atlanta to a live audience.

Mr. Gele will be screening on Sunday, August 19th at 3pm at the SouthWest Arts Center as part of the Nollywood Screening Experience presented by Iyalode Productions and BronzeLens Film Festival of Atlanta. There will also be a screening of the feature Nigerian film – Isoken, directed and produced by Ndani TV creator – Jade Osiberu. The film features Nigerian actors Dakore Akande, Joseph Benjamin and Ghanian actress, Lydia Forson, just to name a few.
There will be a Q & A session with our very own Gladys Edeh alongside Nigerian Actor Joseph Benjamin following the screenings.
It will be an unforgettable night of African Cinema! Exciting Times!
Yes – “Mr. Gele” was an Official Selection at the CineOdyssey Film Festival which took place between July 12th – July 14th 2018 in Charlotte, North Carolina. KokoatDawn’s very own creative director, Gladys Edeh was able to be in attendance. The film’s reception was very well received and much thanks goes out to the festival’s creator, Tre Smith who was such a kind host.

Our short documentary film, Mr. Gele was officially selected to be a part of the 25th New York African Film Festival. It made it’s New York debut on Monday, May 21st 2018 and screened in the prestigious Film Society Lincoln Center theater as part of the Naija Short Stories Program. It was a pleasure to screen alongside many other works by talented African Filmmakers in the diaspora such as Still Water Runs Deep (Abessi Akhamie), Birth of Afrobeat (Opiyo Okeyo), The Good Son (Tomisin Adepeju), Eja Aro (Badewa Ajibade), Las Gidi Vice (Udoka Oyeka) and Visions, a collaborative film directed by members of (Surreal16). The screening and Q & A session was co-presented by Okay Africa.

Mr. Gele: The Man. The Story. The Craft is now an Official Selection of the 42nd Cleveland International Film Festival (CIFF42)!! The film festival is showcasing 253 short films that are representing 72 countries and it is such a delight to know that Mr. Gele is one of them! What a great opportunity it is to share this inspiring film with so many!
